Higgins is pleased to announce the completion of the centre’s third and final stage of development.

Customers flood into big name retailers as the new bulky goods expansion at Pimpama City Shopping Centre opens its doors.

The two-building addition welcomes over 8,000sqm of retail space to the popular shopping hub supported by 300 carparks. Eleven prominent retailers, including BFC, Sydney Tools and Super Cheap Auto, are expected to boost the suburb’s commerce and meet growing consumer needs.

Simple in structure, the design balances functional efficiency with low-maintenance finishes whilst maintaining a high-quality standard across large scales. Tenancies ranging from 359sqm - 1,770sqm in size are housed within 12m high tilt panels and sealed under a 9,400sqm roofing area. Whilst each tenancy is defined by bold branding, the meticulous installation of expansive awnings, CFC express-joint cladding, and an intricate tiled apron create a seamlessly integrated frontal facade.

Our SJH-QLD team joined our project partners on-site as the first tenancies opened to witness the flourishing precinct in action.

The final outcome is also a proud moment for our Pre-Construction team, who led the consultants through an intensive three-month design documentation process.

From our project leaders

It's been fantastic to see such an enthusiastic response from the community. One of the biggest challenges with projects like this is balancing the expectations of many stakeholders, particularly as we reach the end. It’s great to receive positive feedback after a hard-earned completion. We’re confident this addition will serve the centre and its tenants well into the future.

Rix Developments came to us with some fairly ambitious target opening dates. Through a collaborative ECI model, we developed a construction approach that was both feasible and would maximise productivity on site. A project of this scale takes a high level of coordination. I’m proud of our team's ability to steer this program through a challenging time in the Queensland market. The result is a high-quality outcome for our client and the wider community. It’s also quite a pivotal project for Higgins as we continue expanding our capabilities in large-format retail.
