SJ Higgins were appointed for the design & construction of Stage 1B at Brisbane’s premier shopping precinct, Queen Street Mall, with the intention of the redevelopment being the acquirement of additional luxury retailers. A key feature of the Stage 1B Project is the removal of the 1909 Finney Isles Ltd heritage building awning, replacing it with a modern architectural glass design whilst incorporating heritage elements.
The redevelopment entails a reconfiguration of four tenants, to accommodate two new-to-market luxury tenants at the entrance from Adelaide Street; also, the replacement of the existing heritage building awning along the Queen Street Mall Frontage with an elegant, contemporary glazed awning that will complement the Centre’s luxury positioning, as well as maximising the height of the external shopfront.
