Design and Construction of the the Lake Vermont Mine (Mine Industrial Area), increasing coal production from 4MT to 12MT pa.

 

Construction involved a new 8 Bay Ultra Class Haul Truck Workshop, 800,000 Litre Fuel Farm, Light Vehicle Re-fuel, Heavy Vehicle Re-fuel and Tanker Unload points, Heavy Vehicle Wash Bay, Lighting Towers, Jacking Slab, Paths and Oily Water Separation plant.

 

The 8 Bay Ultra Class Workshop comprises of a 24m high clad workshop incorporating Stores Room and Tools Store. Fit out of the Workshop included 2 No. 25 Tonne cranes with 5T Auxiliary Hoists, Compressed Air reticulation, Lubricant Store Tank with Pneumatic Hose Reels for lubricant applications. Workshop and adjacent Jacking Slabs have been designed to jack Ultra Class Haul trucks in any location. Full electrical fit out has also been completed with light and power. Hydraulic fit out has included eye wash station, troughs and Fire Services.

 

The new 800,000 litre Fuel Farm consists of the construction of 4 New 100,000 litre Diesel Fuel storage tanks, combined withe the relocation of the existing 400,000 litre Fuel Farm. The new Fuel Farm also involves the construction of the Tanker Unload Point, Light Vehicle Fuel fill (bowsers) and Heavy Vehicle Fuel fill (Bowser) at an operating rate of 900 litres per minute.

 

The project has also involved the installation of new Lighting Towers to the entire MIA, Water, Sewer, Electrical, Compressed Air and Oily Water Reticulation. The construction of a new Oiley Water Treatment facility ready for discharge to the expanded environmental dam.
