The project is a new three storey reinforced concrete framed building comprising of a basement carpark, Level 1 offices and administration, Level 2 library and offices and a Mezzanine level study area.

 

A heritagelisted bluestone building on the north part of the site was retained. Two openings were formed in the west bluestone wall to link the two buildings together.

 

The combination of irregular shapes, innovative and diverse materials and difficult site conditions precluded standard construction techniques and demanded highly skilled processes.

 

Quality of workmanship, value for money and timely completion were of great importance to the Client. SJ Higgins Group resolved these issues through regular group meetings involving relevant key personnel. Our project team went to extraordinary measures to ensure that the final product responded to the Clients’ requirements.
