Construction of a new National Training
Facility and the extension of the Parts
Warehouse for BMW Australia
headquarters in Mulgrave, to
accommodate the expanding training
operations of BMW Australia and meet
their rapidly growing warehousing needs.
Works involved the staged completion of two distinctly diverse buildings whilst maintaining twenty-four hour access to the client’s existing on-going operations.
The Training Centre incorporates administrative offices, training rooms, storage facilities, café area and amenities, all centred on the vast, high-tech workshop area. The warehouse extension provides large storage areas to match the existing including re-worked loading baya and access roads.
The buildings are provided with new car-parking and landscaped grounds. Maintaining a high level of communication was of great importance in order to meet the client’s very particular design requirements – providing a unique training facility whilst adhering to BMW’s well-known international image
With the specification of specialist equipment sourced from Germany, extensive research was put into practice to adopt the best delivery option, followed by careful and detailed planning and organization ensuring quality and deadlines were met.
During construction the coordination with numerous specialist contractors in addition to the general workforce of up to sixty subcontractors was critical for completion.
